About Us

OUR MISSION

Our coalition is a collaborative partnership between social service organizations, healthcare providers, county agencies, private businesses and passionate community members in Josephine County. Our work includes providing education, awareness, and advocacy for suicide prevention, intervention , and postvention. We strive to create an open space for community connection by making suicide an approachable topic and elevating the voices of those impacted by suicide

Community Outreach and Inclusion

In 2016 key community agencies and came together and formed the Josephine County Suicide Prevention Taskforce. In 2022, we changed from a “Taskforce” to a “Coalition.” This was done in hopes to increase participation from the community and community members with lived experience. Our goal is to be inclusive and represent the diversity held within our communities.

  • It takes the whole community to help prevent suicide.

  • We can all do our part in reducing risk factors and increasing protective factors. Our many trainings and resource sharing is one step towards hope.

  • We are working together to develop and implement community supports and education around grief literacy.

  • Advocate for policies that support mental health and well-being.
